6 Steps to Financial Planning

1. Initial Meeting
This allows us to find out what you are looking for in a financial adviser and the types of advice required.  The first meeting is about getting to know one another before deciding whether to take the next step and have a "Statement of Advice" prepared.

At this meeting we will be able to give you a broad outline of some of the strategies we may consider; in addition we will detail the cost of preparing your advice.

The cost of your advice will be proportional to the complexity, the time taken to prepare, implement and manage the strategies, and the value the advice brings to you.  Our initial meeting with you is free of charge.

2. Fact finding
To enable us to provide the most effective advice, it is important for us to understand as much about your personal financial position as possible.  We will seek to understand your goals and aspirations and talk to you about many of the possibilities which will be considered.  We will discuss your thoughts and feelings about investment markets and gauge your understanding of the level of risk with which you will be comfortable, using our risk profiling analysis.

3. Planning
Using the information gathered in our earlier meeting/s we will model various strategies before constructing your formal statement of advice document.

4. Presenting the Plan
Your statement of advice and the recommendations therein will be tailored to your specific goals, needs and objectives.

5. Implementing the Recommendations
Once you are comfortable with our recommendations, they will need to be put into action.  This may require filling out forms, commencing new investments and/or insurances etc.  We take care of this process.

6. Reviewing
The implementation of our recommendations is just the beginning; following implementation we will agree on the level of support necessary on an ongoing basis.  It would be our expectation to meet with you at least anually to monitor your strategy.  The review process also gives us an opportunity to talk to you about any changes to your personal circumstances so that adjustments can be made where necessary.
